Reimagining Immigration: TIAO joins coalition of business associations to push for immigration policy updates

Canada’s immigration policy isn’t just a headline in Ottawa—it’s one of the biggest questions shaping our economic future.

Too often, the national conversation gets stuck in politics while the real story, what’s happening on the ground in businesses and communities, is left behind.  We know the reality: without strong seasonal and permanent immigration pathways that reflect actual labour market needs, our industry and our economy remain at risk.

That’s why TIAO has joined nearly 70 business associations from across Canada in the Reimagining Immigration Coalition. Together, we’re pushing for a reset and an immigration system that’s practical, responsive, and built to work for employers, workers, and communities alike.

Our proposal, the Canadian International Workforce Program, offers a clear alternative: a system designed to better reflect labour market supply and demand.  Click here to learn more.

This work depends on collective action.  The more voices at the table, the stronger the impact.  If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you: reach out to us at info@tiaontario.ca.
